Big Sur's Hidden Gem
If you’re looking for the perfect Big Sur day, this is it. We headed into Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and set off for the gorge. The “trail” is less of a hike and more of an adventure. Think wading through the river, climbing over a few boulders, and laughing when you splash in deeper than expected.
Eventually, you land at the gorge, where crystal clear pools are waiting for you. We swam, floated, and just soaked it all in. It feels like one of those places that’s too good to be real.
Pro tip: pack water shoes for the river crossings, a towel to sunbath on the bolders, and some snacks to keep you fueled. A dry bag is clutch too if you want to bring your phone or camera!
The best part? Ending the day at Big Sur River Inn. They’ve got Adirondack chairs set right in the river, so you can sit with your feet in the water while you eat lunch. Honestly, it doesn’t get more Big Sur than that!
